Looking for a way to limit the waste of expensive ebony, the Workshop knife was born! This handle allows us to recover the wood that would have otherwise been scrapped. The result is a mix of walnut and ebony with two veneers bringing these two species together. A 30° cut is made at the heel, then the walnut and ebony are assembled, glued and pressed. Once worked and shaped, the handle is finally buffed just like all the other handles manufactured in this workshop.
The gift box is included with this item.
Hand wash only. Do not immerse your knife in water, as this could warp the wooden handle. Dry the blade before closing.
Keep your blade sharp and your handle shiny with our maintenance kit.

I have had this knife for about 2 years and I really appreciate the craftsmanship, choice of woods, and thoughtful handle design. I like how the angle of the cut in the handle compliments the angle of the tip of the blade. Very pleasing to the eye. Thanks Emeline Ducrocq.
I was looking forward to receiving this knife, anticipating it to look like the one represented on your website. I was disappointed in the very light colored walnut. This knife would be so much more attractive if black walnut with its darker color and beautiful grain was used. It still remains a wonderfully functional knife to add to my substantial collection of opinel knives
Dear Michael, Thank you for your review! It's always an anticipation when purchasing a unique, hand-made piece, like the Opinel Workshop. I am sorry to hear your disappointment about the light colored walnut wood, but the idea behind this knife is to use every left over piece of wood to make something beautiful and valuable out of it. To turn scraps into a collectible object. And for this reason, the artist let himself be inspired by the wood available at the moment and for your Opinel, the association of this light walnut to contrast with the black ebony was what inspired him. I am glad you still enjoy it and that it's a nice piece to add to your collection!
