The most premium wood we offer, Ebony is extremely hard and durable. The density of ebony makes this knife slightly heavier than most of our other models, and the No.08 length means it is very versatile. A classic knife that will surely become a heritage piece for whoever receives it.
A gift box is included with this item.
Hand wash only. Do not immerse your knife in water, as this could warp the wooden handle. Dry the blade before closing.
Keep your blade sharp and your handle shiny with our maintenance kit.

It’s an amazing knife the handle feels amazing in the hand. The only issue I had was the lock ring was a bit loose, but that was an easy fix.
This is an absolutely beautiful knife. The iconic Opinel design is made even more elegant with the use of very deep, rich colored ebony as the handle material. I look forward to cherishing this life for years to come.
This knife is the epitome elegance and simplicity. The ebony handle is a very deep, rich black color which polishes to a beautiful finish and is incredibly comfortable to use. I look forward to cherishing my new Opinel for years to come.
There's not much to say besides this is knife is beautiful. The blade is highly polished and the handle is a deep black. Like my other Opinel knives it a work of art, simple yet sophisticated in it's style and quality. The ebony handle is somewhat heavier giving the knife a solid and sturdy feel. No one who appreciates quality will be anything but impressed.
I’ve had a Walnut wood No.08 for several years as my food preparation tool at the office. Today, I received the Ebony wood No.08 and can feel the substantial haft because of the added wood density. It’s polished blade is an extra quality which I also appreciate. Opinel has really stepped up its premium wood lineup without taking away the simplicity of this classic design. Ebony wood is difficult to find these days, so when it was offered, I did not hesitate to grab one.
This item also exists as part of the No.08 Master Collector Box Set - pairing premium and limited editions No.08 folding knives to create THE Opinel collector dreamy set and save a few dollars!
