This No.08 knife features a Carbon steel blade, a premium oak wood engraved handle, and a leather lanyard for ease of carry. The engraving is the mark of Opinel founder Joseph Opinel—“O. J.”—and a nod to his first workshop in the French Alps (Gevoudaz) with the coordinates “45.2300 N | 6.3129 E.”

Only 300 are available in the United States.
There is a limit of 4 knives per customer; orders exceeding this amount will be canceled without notice, and a 5% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.

For over 130 years Opinel has been crafting knives and tools in the heart of the French Alps. Much like Joseph Opinel did from his workshop in 1890, today we still manufacture Opinel products from our factory in Chambery, France.

As a nod to the original workshop - and Opinel founder, Joseph Opinel - we've created a limited edition No.08 Carbon Knife. Featuring an oak wood handle specially engraved with Joseph's personal signature and the coordinates of the first Opinel workshop in Gevoudaz, France.

42.2300 N | 6.3129 E, marks the location where the first Opinel folding knife was created in 1890, celebrating the beginning of what is now a 135 year journey of making quality, affordable knives in the heart of the French Alps.

From our home in the Alps, we make tools designed to stand the test of time. We value the quaility of our knives and tools, and offer a limited lifetime warranty for all Opinel products. In the event of a manufacturer's defect or workmanship, Opinel will exchange the products affected.
