This replacement blade is for the Opinel No.18 Folding Saw. The blade is made from Carbon Steel and needs to be oiled and taken care of after each use. If the blade is used to cut acidic items and left in damp areas it will generate patina and/or rust over time.
We use Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% provides an excellent cutting edge and is easily sharpened.
All garden knifes include our patented safety ring that keeps the blade locked open while in use and locked shut while in transport.
