A camper or gardener's must have. This very light (5 oz) and rugged folding saw can cut small trees or branches up to 4 inches.
Hand wash only. Do not immerse your saw in water, as this could warp the wooden handle. Do not wash the carbon blade by running it under water, simply wipe it down after use. If wet, immediately dry the carbon blade with a soft, dry towel. Lubricating the carbon blade with a food safe oil before closing the saw is recommended (this prevents oxidation). Over time, carbon steel can develop a patina and may possibly show some corrosion, depending on use.
Keep your blade sharp and your handle shiny with our maintenance kit.

Walked around yard cutting many dead branches, different species and sizes. Kept sizes under 3.15" diameter. Easy sawing, closed saw fits in pocket, smooth opening and closing, sure locking when open or closed, open blade appeared to be firmly held. Being a pull saw, the cuts were clean and level. When I received it today, I noticed it didn't have a notch for finger nail opening like Opinel knives. After releasing the lock in the closed blade position, pulling on the back edge of the blade allowed me to readily pull it out of the handle. Overall, a solid five stars out of five.
The folding saw does not meet opined high standard ,doesn’t have finger nail slot to open and the sawblade teeth dig in to the handle when closing.
Hi CT, Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry to hear about the disappointment. The No.12 Saw doesn't have the finger nail because it's got more surface to grab to pull the blade out of the handle. As for the teeth that dig too deep into the handle, that may indicate a defect. it shouldn't go too far. Feel free to reach out to us at warranty@opinel-usa.com so we can assist you further with this.
review based on how difficult it is to find it in stock, I do react to the email notifications when more are in stock, but usually not within 24 hours which is clearly not acting fast enough. perhaps you can update your page so that I get a series of escalating text notifications sent to my cell phone, like if I don't respond to the first one with an hour, you send me like 5 more with lots of emojis showing how quickly time is running out. So 3 stars based on reading the market excitement, and totally ready to upgrade to more stars if I can ever get a chance to experience the saw in person
I've never owned one but it looks like a nice tool. I hope my clergyman likes it.
A nice folding saw for the garden. I carry mine in my hip pocket while gardening.

We use Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% provides an excellent cutting edge and is easily sharpened.
All garden knifes include our patented safety ring that keeps the blade locked open while in use and locked shut while in transport.
