CARBON BLADES

The original Opinel knife series, the ones that started the iconic brand 120 years ago. Made of XC 90 Carbon steel this knives can literally be sharpen to a razor's edge but require a little care. We recommend the carbon series to anyone that know how to care for and prevent rust on such metal.

No8 OUTDOOR

New for 2012, Opinel is going high-tech with space age materials. This heavy duty survival knife features a 2.5 mm thick 12C27 sandvik blade, a thick serrated area, an integrated 4 seasons 110 db survival whistle and a shackle key. Opinel No8 is the most versatile size in the ever growing line of folding knives. This knife is small enough to be used as a pocket knife and it's 3 1/4' blade prevent it to be considered a weapon in most states (check with your state).

Ebauches" as they are called in France are finally available in the U.S. This knife's handle is intended to be carved in to whatever you can dream of (if you have the abilities of course). This knife can also be left "as is" after a little sending if you like a longer knife handle and a larger grip.
 

MY FIRST OPINEL

My first Opinel AKA "Opinel Junior" features a 12C27 MOD Stainless round tipped blade. The name says it all... Available in Beechwood and color handles. Please! Never let an Opinel "first User" use a knife without supervision.

CHAPERON KNIVES

Wood worker in France for the last 25 years, Bruno Chaperon was trained at the famous French "Arts Décoratifs" and "Beaux-arts de Paris". Mr. Chaperon developed and patented the intricate "sinusoidal" marqueterie you see on the knife above. This intricate technique assures that every single Opinel is unique. The Chaperon knives are part of the Opinel line of products and have their own SKU.
 

Horn Tip Opinel No8

Horn tip comes from the massive noblest part of the horn, the tip. Horn tip does not undergo heating constraint as pressed horn does. Horn tip is the tougher part of the horn; therefore, the handle will never warp or crack.
